Sweet Saturday

I can't remember where I got this picture- it's been in my folder for a long time.

When Harry Met Sally

My roommate and I are having a hot Friday night watching When Harry Met Sally. The couple confessionals are something for us all to aspire to. I hope that Mr. SE and I will have this much love when we're in our 80's. I think we will <3

Spring Break

Coral Beach
Coral Beach - by sgarrison on Polyvore.com

Everyone here is preparing for spring break. The gym is packed and tanning salons have their springy waiting lines. Our break starts next Friday, and college students all over the country and planning fantastic vacations to beaches everywhere. Wouldn't I love to be on a warm beach, with my toes in the sand.

(it didn't slow this girl down)

What's that? I can't walk on the beach with these crutches? Oh right- I'll be having ankle surgery for spring break. My 4th ankle surgery! In high school I was a cheerleader and rocked that curly weave like no other. But I rolled my ankle before a competition and the rest is history. I had a surgery my freshman, sophomore, and senior year. It's been awhile since the last one, but I'm still unable to walk minimal distances (read: 30 min shopping) without intense pain and the feeling that I'm going to fall. Oh, and I can't bend my left leg forward at the ankle. Cute.

So I'll be driving home Thursday night and having surgery on Friday morning. What a stellar way to start spring break, right? I'm going to bring home plenty of reading material and cross my fingers that I don't have an allergic reaction to pain medication again. FYI: swollen face and medical observation is not the best way to snag a date with a Hopkins med student. Low point.

Hopefully this will be my last surgery. I'm not trying to be a bionic pentathlon superstar; I just want the opportunity to run around with my kids or enjoy a trip to Europe.

Real Wedding: Paper Edition

Last fall there was a Nashville wedding featured on Style Me Pretty. *I had no idea that Abby Lawson went to Vanderbilt. She's sort of my hero- no, seriously* Back to the wedding. The bride, Bonnie, is a graphic designer for local company Tenn Hens Design. The color palette really captured the essence of being on a farm: blue sky, green grass, *sigh*. Such a laid back suite, but so stylish and classy at the same time. I'll stop talking and let the pictures speak for themselves, courtesy of Mary Claire Crowe.

Nashville Photographers

Photo from Dove Photography
Being from the Washington, DC area I'd always figured that's where I would be married. However, once I came down to college in North Carolina I was hooked on southern culture. Before the Nashville news, I figured that Mr. SE and I would be wed in his hometown of Atlanta. The cost of weddings in metro DC is exorbitant- we're talking $8,000 for a venue rental on Saturday. By the way, that's not including any rentals, food, flowers, etc. Just the walls and floor. Holy smokes!

When Mr. SE moved to Nashville, and I started beginning my job search for the area, it became apparent that Tennessee will be *our* new state for at least the next 3-5 years. I like the idea of having our friends and family come experience our nuptials in a place that is completely ours- not particularly belonging to either part of the couple but equally between the two. Not to mention the financial incentive of having a wedding in Nashville is incredibly appealing.

Don't get too excited- I probably still won't be able to afford letterpress. There are some things in Nashville that I didn't expect: the abundance of photographers, and price of makeup/hair. Looking back, I suppose these should have being apparent seeing as the city is such a mecca of artsy folks (which I love to have around!) and HQ of country music (hence expensive hair/makeup services). The photographers in Nashville are amazing!Photo from Dove Photography

I started with the dream team of Arlund, Dove, and Gray. They're Nashville wedding photography royalty- you all know (and love their work). I thought that being a small city, there wouldn't be much to offer in terms of variety with the wedding industry. I've begun to collect all sorts of vendor information over the past year, and now I have over 40 (yes 40!) wedding photographers in the area!

Minimal, Modern Elegance

Picture from here

I found this inspiration board from an international site- I think it's written in either Spanish or Italian. I speak French, so I'm no help for either of those. The palette is so effortless, but incredibly chic at the same time. This would work great for a natural setting, and the green helps accent the outside environment. I wish it said where those shoes are from- they're to die for! Enjoy.

Betsy White Color Palette: Part II

This is Part II for the color palette that I featured yesterday. The lemon and mint contrast each other so nicely and the palette could be translated from a casual to formal affair. The hand painted wedding sign is lovely- Cedarwood Plantation has some signs like that leading up to their property.

Betsy White Color Palette

This Save the Date is so fun! There was a great response to the Marigold and Aqua color palette, so I decided to show another take on it. This palette is from Betsy White and the colors are lemon, mint, and slate. What a gorgeous combination. I'll be showing an inspiration for this palette later today. Enjoy!

Skyline Mug Series

While in the Nashville airport I spotted this super cute mug at Starbucks. I want to say it was $19 in store, but they're listed as almost $30 on the Starbucks website! Twenty dollars still seemed like a lot of money to me, but I was hoping I could snag one for cheap on Ebay. These would be a great edition to our new kitchen!

Mr. and Miss SE

That one's an oldie....

I thought it was about time I tell you a little bit about Mr. SE and myself. We met in college when my sorority sponsored a baseball game- he was playing I was "watching". He was a junior at the time and I was a freshman- it was 2006. Mr. SE graduated in '07, and I'll be graduating this spring.

Mr. SE Loves:
Atlanta Braves, baseball, Cats, UGA, Mythbusters, weather, Law & Order SVU

I Love:
Mr. SE, bingo, lean cuisine pizzas, photography blogs, black & white photos, reading for fun

This picture is from a cooking class that Mr. SE gave me for our 2 year anniversary. I studied abroad in Paris, and the class was aptly called Date Night in Paris. We had so much fun and I definitely recommend the Viking Cooking School (Franklin) to anyone in the Nashville area!
