Private Practice Season Finale

Readers, do any of you watch Private Practice? Tonight's season finale was out of control!

Can we please get some discussion going on this topic? I'm dying to get somebody else's feedback on this episode. K and I were literally screaming at the TV towards the end of the episode. Any predictions for the season opener? I can't wait until fall! Honestly, I have so many questions:

  • Will Dell be able to keep Betsy?
  • Is Naiomi leaving the show (she's taken another job)?
  • If Naiomi stays, will she admit that she still loves Sam?
  • Will Noah stay with his wife and leave Addison alone? Or will Addison give in again?
  • Will Pete go to Violet's house and save her?

Getting Pretty for the Mr

I'm not sure whether or not I'll do boudoir pics. What about doing boudoir-esque shots while getting dressed for the big day? These are classy and romantic. I love it! Did you do a boudoir shot? If not, are you planning on doing one for an anniversary?

Email me if you know where this picture is from, I'd like to give credit.

Kinda-Sorta

Love this new card from Kate Spade.

Obsessed

{Picture from here}
This cold is really getting to me, and I should be heading to bed- BUT there's a photographer I just found on SMP that has literally floored me. Her name is Kelty and the company's called Steep Street (San Fran). Seriously- these pictures are a.maz.ing. I maybe just looked through 25 different post and fell in love with every image. Maybe if I beg her she'll come to TN and shoot Mr. SE and I....

There's no website yet, but check out the blog. I promise you won't be dissapointed! For now it's me, Duffie, and some Nyquil. See you tomorrow lovelies!

Pizza Pizza!

These little babies are my absolute favorite! They're beyond delicious and not too bad for you (a little more sodium than I'd like). I eat a Lean Cuisine Pizza (or LCP as I call them) for lunch every day. You can imagine my excitement when Lowe's Foods had them on sale for $2 yesterday!!! Needless to say, I took advantage of the opportunity and stocked up. Am I alone in this love? Tell me there's some more LCP crazies out there! Do you have something that you absolutely LOVE to eat- and do eat it regularly?!?

Margaret Elizabeth Jewelry Discount

Office Update

Look at this lovely office from Real Simple! This is the after shot of a redecorated home office space. I'm kind of in love with that desk! The glass top is great for storing all your pretty supplies underneath, but still leaving space for work. I know you want to see the before shot too, so here it is...Images from See Jane Work

Brides and Their Furry Friends

{Picture by Feather Love Photography}
That's a big dog! One of my favorite ways couples incorporate themselves into photographs is to have their furry friends present at the engagement shoot! Mr. SE and I are already planning on having our little bundle of fur make her way into our e-shoot.

The idea of dogs participating in the wedding is still catching on, but what do you think about bringing Fido to your engagement shoot?

The Final Countdown

Oh hi, it's me again! Expect a lot of posts this week, as the majority of my classes have been canceled. I haven't used my Windows Sidebar for awhile, and I just decided to put it up on my desktop.....What's this I see? 25 days, my friends! It seems like just last week I was picking out what to wear for Mr. SE's graduation (2007). I can't believe this is finally happening. There's so many things that I want to do, and I can't wait to begin this new chapter of my life. Andy advice you wish you would've had upon graduation?

NYC Save the Date

Check out this Save the Date from calligrapher Jenna Hein. I love how the design shows the couple, their wedding date, and location in such few words. Classic and lovely! Spend some time at Jenna's Blog looking at her other lovely creations.

Wedding With a Westie

As many of you know, I'm obsessed with my Westie (Duffie). Today's wedding on SMP made me so excited since they used the family dog as their ring bearer. I think we might have found Duffie a dashing boyfriend! Check out the wedding here.

Wallet Friendly Letterpress: Mission Impossible

I'm loving this letterpress invite from Wedding Paper Divas. They have an incredible selection of signature invites and have recently launched a line of letterpress designs. The majority of products from WPD are moderately priced, and these letterpress lovelies claim to be as well. But at $4.89 a pop (just the 1 piece invite), it still seems pretty expensive to me. How much did you anticipate to spend on invites? Did you end up spending more or less?

The Romper Room

My mom used to tell be about a tv show called Romper Room- it seemed an appropriate post title, as this article of clothing has been called a romper, jumpsuit, or onesie. What are your thoughts on this trend? I'm absolutely loving this romper from Forever 21. As usual, it comes in 4 fantastic colors.

Cute Ideas

Here's some cute ideas that I've seen online recently. The first is a gorgeous way to display iced champagne or wine. The rose buds inside ice cubes make a huge impact and are completely beautiful! Below: this popcorn bar is a great take on the current DIY candy bar trend. I love the idea of a DIY favor bar, and this popcorn idea is right up my alley. There's lots of gourmet popcorn companies that could supply you with the favors, or you could make the seasoning yourself. I like the idea of mixing sweet and savory flavors. Daddy SE loves popcorn and this would be a great hit in his book too.
Here's some gourmet popcorn websites- some of their flavors are crazy!
Dale and Thomas Popcorn
Kukuruza
Popcorn Palace

Are you jumping on the DIY favor buffet bandwagon? If so, what are your colors or food choices?

Peace in The Bedroom

Okay ladies- I think Mr. SE and I have settled on a duvet. We're loving the Boathouse Stripe from Pottery Barn. Not so much the price, but it's a classic and we'll be able to change our room around it. I'm loving the monogrammed sheets that they put with it. Also- how cute is the shower curtain?

Forever 21 Find

Check out this great dress from Forever 21. It's perfect for a Friday night out. Even better- it costs $13.50 and also comes in coral, hot pink, and black.

Invisible Children: Rescue Me

Check out this video describing Invisible Children. The children in Uganda don't have a voice, so we need to bring it to the media's attention. Write letters, send emails, and call your representatives. I'm not normally into political/social protests- but this is something that I wholeheartedly support! These children need us to fight on their behalf. Attend the RESCUE ME event on April 25th- they're all over the country.

Here's a little teaser for The Proposal, featuring Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds

Cocktails Anyone?

Today is going to be beautiful here in NC! I'm hoping you all across the country are experiencing the same lovely weather. Forever 21 has had some wonderful goodies on their site lately, and I thought we'd start the day off with some online window shopping. Shall we?

I'm loving these cocktail rings! They're so fun and add character to any outfit. From $3-6 they're definitely a great steal.

Maya Angelou = HERO

Please listen to her eulogy of Coretta Scott King. This woman is amazing. Her words are so strong and poetic at the same time.

Right now I'm reading "Letter to My Daughter" by Maya Angelou. It's honestly one of the best books I've ever read. Ms. Angelou is humbling, inspiring, and she makes me want to be a better person. If you're a fan of strong women- this is the book for you. Read a good book lately? Leave a comment and recommend it to everybody else!

Martha Update

Some of you might be wondering where the Martha Weddings Episode update is. And the answer is, it won't be appearing. You all know how I love Martha, especially her wedding issues. I'm sad to report that I thought the weddings episode was less than fantastic. In her defense, she did feature Vera Wang- goddess of bridal fashion. Other than that, I was less than enthused. There was way more inspiration to be found during a day of surfing the web.

Did you see the episode? And if so, were you disappointed?

Bedding Conundrum

There's lots of challenges that you're sure to face when you decide to make the BIG move. Luckily, Mr. SE and I practically lived together during college and I actually did move in for 2 months last summer. We've worked out our preliminary kinks, and have a heads up as to what we're getting in to. One of the problems we face is the bathroom: how can he change contacts and manage go drench the whole counter? Doesn't it bother him that the tube is all sticky with toothpaste? Solution---> our new apartment has two sinks in the master bath! This should alleviate some stressors.

Currently Mr. SE has a kraft colored duvet and a light wood/chrome color palette in his bedroom. My bedroom is shabby chic and incredibly feminine. How can we blend these two decorating styles you ask? Answer: start new.

We're thinking of champagne, espresso, and taupe. They're warm neutrals, and we can add accent shades for some pops of color. The main issue we're working with right now is finding unisex bedding. It's either really feminine (floral) or really masculine (stripes). Is there anything in between? How did you incorporate both of your styles in decorating your place together? Here's two prints that I think we could work with. Both from Pottery Barn.

Sigh of Relief

Good morning! I'm feeling really good right now- especially since I just booked a massage. FYI: I have really bad migraines and have been recommended to get a massage weekly. Luckily my mom is a teacher and we have amazing insurance! The massages have helped keep me calm and not feeling anxious, but it's been awhile since I've had one.

I'd much rather go the preventative route versus taking lots of pills and being reactive. Don't get me wrong- I head straight for a Relpax when I feel a migraine coming on, but I find myself having to do that less and less.

If you're into massages, I'd love to make a recommendation in the Nashville area. Essential Therapy (West End) is fantastic! Last summer I saw Susan every week, and I've continued to get massages every time I come visit. Their tranquility room is OUT OF CONTROL! Honestly, I would probably pay just to relax in that room. This would be a great place to head for a spa day with the girls in your bridal party. Don't forget your guys! Mr. SE had a massage there over Valentine's Day and loved it. Do you get massages? Or what helps you really relax?

Radio Station Advice

Here in NC I listen to K-Love. It's an awesome contemporary Christian station and I LOVE putting it on every day. But I'm getting really nervous about finding a station that is just as good in Nashville. K-Love is heard nationally, but I'm not sure if it's broadcast in TN. Can anybody shed some light on this question? Also, I'd love some recommendations for a Christian station in Nashville. The artists that I'd love to keep hearing: Michael W Smith, Big Daddy Weave, Chris Tomlin, and Brandon Heath.

On another note, the Dove Awards are being broadcast live from Nashville on Thursday. I tried SO hard to win tickets and I really wish I could go. Will you be watching?

Sunday Recap

This necklace, found by Miss Apple Cider, is hilarious! I thought it was super appropriate for how I'm feeling right now. K and I were shopping all day. My ankle is killing me! Oh well, the shopping (and company) were well worth it. We hit Old Navy, Limited, Barnes and Noble, J Crew, White House/Black Market, and DSW.
In the middle of all that I introduced K to the most amazing store EVER- Swoozies. This store is the epitome of everything I love: paper, monogrammed goodies, gifts, and fun nicknacks! If you don't have one near you check out their website. There's one at Green Hills in Nashville- yippee!!! Can you tell I'm excited? If you don't have a Swoozies, check for Blue Tulip, they're pretty similar. This is a great store for gifts (moms, friends, bridal party, the lucky couple)

Reception Vision: Can't Decide

Picture Michael Norwood
Today I have some inspiration bouquets to share with you. These pictures are old, and from all over, so I don't have links for very many of them. Please tell me if you know their origin. So I have two ideas for the type of event I'd like to have, both of these start off with a Catholic church ceremony (non-mass):

A. Plantation reception; possibly a barn involved; shades of green, blue, and white to complement the natural scenery; maybe a modified a-line, but with lightweight fabric; centerpieces in mason jars w/baby's breath; see example here (Bonnie & Trevor)

B. Downtown reception: rooftop terrace cocktail/ballroom dinner or tented at War Memorial; shades of pale peach, Tiffany blue, and ivory; champagne cocktails; fit and flare gown; modern centerpiece with pillar candles; see example here (Today Show & Martha)
Each of these styles would have completely different design elements. It's hard for me to narrow down which one is my favorite, and I think it'll determine when dates are available. Did you have a firm idea in your mind or did you take a design cue from your booked reception site?
Here's two more bouquets that I like. I'm loving baby's breath for flower girls too. It's cheap!

Hokie Pride

Being from northern Virginia, I know a lot of people that go to Virginia Tech. Two years ago, on this date, tragedy struck that campus. Two girls who attended my high school were lost in the gunfire, one if them was a friend of mine. The families involved were affected forever. Let's all take a minute to say a prayer for the victim's families and friends.Visit http://www.reemasamaha.org/ to see what you can do to prevent gun violence

Blog Love: Just a Girl

Normally I keep my SITS blogs to myself- but today I couldn't NOT post about it! Today's blog is called Just A Girl. She's a "wife, mom, student..." and everything in between. I've only read a couple posts so far and I'm completely inspired. This lady is fantastic with decorating and accessorizing! Check out her blog for more inspiration...Beware: you could be there for a long time! This blog has also been added to my "everyday blog" list, so you can find it again.

Are there any blogs that you just LOVE and want to share with us? I'd love to see what you all are reading.

Pretty Things

{earrings from Margaret Elizabeth}

Today's post is just some pretty things I've been meaning to show you, and keep getting distracted by other pretty things! I'm super busy today with studying for an exam, so I didn't have time to do anything fancy.
{Photo from here}
Rounded corners (you know I love them!!) invite suite from Checkerboard Invitations. Psst- Williamson County Weddings & Events is running a sale on them right now!
These two delicious suites are from Linda & Harriett. I love the elegance of the top image and whimsy of the bottom. Check out their website for more eye candy!

Ranunculus from JL Floral Designs

I'm absolutely loving these bouquets from JL Floral Designs. I'm pretty sure the flowers are all ranunculus. Check out more delicious eye candy on their website. We're having a dinner party tonight, so I've got to set up.

100th Post

Last night marked my 100th post! In honor of this milestone, I'd like to have a Lady M Mille Crepe Cake and give one to each of my devoted blog followers. Okay just kidding- I can't afford one for myself, let alone all of you. But let's just gaze at the picture for a little while longer. Check out Lady M's website for more French inspired confections. Super chouette!
Cake from here.

In other news, Martha is doing her Weddings episode tomorrow. I'm going to watch the show and I'll be sure to give a recap for those of you who missed it.
