Non-Flower Centerpiece

A recent topic in the wedding world has been how to make your day fabulous and chic, without breaking the bank. Now, more than ever, it's important for brides and wedding professionals alike to try and cut costs. Not only are brides trying to save money, but also the people that make weddings happen.

Etsy Love

It's official- I'm in love with Etsy!! I first heard about it through a post on SMP and it went through the blog world quicker than you could blink. Seriously, I can spend countless amounts of time looking at all the great things that are for sale. Even better, you're able to commission a custom order through Alchemy. What could be better?

I got the cutest wine glasses for my big and little. Big's glass was engagement themed and little's was for her birthday. After seeing my glasses my roommate decided to get a set of 4 for her mom. Dani's had grapes and were so classy, while mine were whimsical and fun. Definitely a very cute gift for family and friends.

Speaking of gifts, I've gotten the cutest little trinkets for my girlfriends, parents, and family! I can't wait to share them with you.

Fuchsia...Red?

The Pantone 2009 Spring Color Report is out! Basically Pantone decides what you'll be wearing next season. When they choose "the" colors, that's what designers put out in stores. Spring's new colors will be a great guide for spring/summer 2009 brides who haven't chosen their colors yet. That being said- hopefully they've all figured that out by now.



Pantone works with the most sought after designers to determine what these colors will be, and the designer creates a sketch of an item in that color. I'd never heard of Erin Fetherston before The Rachel Zoe Project- but I love her clothes! They're extremely girly and have a very ethereal feel to them. The Fuchsia Red is one of my favorites- but that dress is by far the best! Some of the other colors include: Salmon Rose, Palace Blue, Lucite Green, Super Lemon, Dark Citron, Lavender, Vibrant Green, Slate Grey, and Rose Dust.

Grey has been making a major statement this past year. It was huge in spring (coupled with yellow) and fall, and it looks like it'll be everywhere in spring 2009. One more reason that you needed to splurge on those cute grey boots from Nordstrom....

Dear Diary...

I started this blog with the intent to keep a record of things that I found interesting, beautiful, or just plain fun. But then something else struck me- will I be able to carry this on longer than my diaries and journals of the past? I was always so excited about starting them, then two or three days went by and I just lost my thunder.

Last week I was having a conversation with a friend of mine, who happens to be getting married in June, about this very same topic. She told a funny story about how she stumbled upon her old diaries during a recent trip home. Some of the journals were pretty sparse and had entries like the following, "Dear diary...I'm sorry I haven't written in so long", which leads me to ask the question "Why do we feel like there's a relationship between us and the inanimate book?" Did that sound like Carrie Bradshaw? Because I totally meant it to...






Hopefully this blog won't be peppered with "I'm sorry I haven't written in so long...". I'll try to keep it up, not so much for the entertainment of my audience, which I'm sure is SO huge, but for myself. Happy reading.

First Post

Today is the first day of my blog. I'll try to post at least once every day. I'm not sure what to write about at first, but I'm sure we'll get rolling in no time.

The first couple posts will probably be compiled from interesting things I saw on my obligatory daily tour of the usual blogs...
