Looking Forward: Spring 2010 Fashion
I don't know about you, but I'm getting a little bit of cabin fever. Fall was beautiful and fun, and the bundled-up coziness of winter was sweet for awhile. But now I'm ready for spring! Last week's taste of warmer weather had me longing for layered tissue tees with lightweight cardigans. Dresses with bare legs- le sigh! Ann Taylor has some great spring looks right now, and I can't wait to get my hands on some of their new styles.
{perfection in a simple silhouette}Are you getting restless in this cold weather? What's your most coveted piece of clothing or accessory for this upcoming spring season?

Engagement Shoot
Today we'll be having our engagement shoot with the wonderful Jonathon Campbell. We're going to start in Franklin and take some rural pictures, then we'll move to downtown for sunset. If you follow me on twitter, you know I've been wigging out about my outfit. So here's what I've decided to wear (this is going to be a picture heavy post).
This sweater with jeans & cowboy boots....Because it is November, even if it's 70 degrees.
And this dress.....love the empire waist and sassy little hemline
with these shoes (I'm in the yellow, making an huge effort to catch the bouquet)....
I can't wait to see how our shoot works out. I'm sure Jonathon and Sharon will rock it!

Dear Sephora, I love You
Yesterday after work I stopped in at Greens Hills mall to exchange my coat (more on that below) and pick up some new makeup. It's been FOREVER since I tried something new, and I was ready for a change. Here's what I grabbed: Peach eyeshadow for every day, navy blue eyeliner (must have for baby blues), and some new rose blush. I've been having tons of problems with what I assume is rosacea creeping up on me. I've got an appointment with the dermatologist in a couple weeks, but until then I thought I'd give this Clinique solution a try. It got great reviews- we'll see if it can keep my freakout-inducing hive-looking hot flashes under control.
Now onto the trench. Said trench purchased online (XS) fit perfectly, but the sleeves/shoulders were a little snug. I tried it on just wearing a fitted tee, so I'm concerned about the fit with a sweater or layering. Tried on the small (regular) at Green Hills BR, and it was enormous. Why such a huge difference between one size? Lame. So the incredibly nice manager at BR (shout out to her- she was seriously great!) called Cool Springs BR to see if they carried my lovely coat in a Small Petite. They had it! I'll be stopping by the Cool Springs store this weekend, before I babysit for the lovely Thirty-Something Bride's wedding reception! Hopefully the small petite will be the answer to my prayers. I want this coat to fit SO badly....
On another note, I am LOVING my brown heeled boots that Mr. SE bought me from Off Broadway. The brand is Michael Shannon and they are TO. DIE. FOR. Unfortunately, MS doesn't have a website so I can't upload a picture. If you're lucky enough to see them in person (I'm sure they'll be making lots of appearances), you can admire them for yourself!

Rain Rain Go Away

This nasty weather has me thinking about fall: sweaters, scarves, boots, and maybe even a pumpkin latte. But wait. Scratch the pumpkin latte- have you read the nutritional facts online? Gross.
Old Navy has a great fall collection this year, with prices perfect for the SE household. I went over to Opry Mills yesterday, fought the Opry concert traffic to get a spot, and realized that I left my wallet at home in my work bag. Perfect. No, Mr. SE would not drive over from work and pay for my clothes. I asked.
So today I'll try once again to pick up some fall goodies. This time I'll be going to Providence because A) the parking is way better than Opry Mills B) I think it's a little closer and C) I love any excuse to visit Home Goods! What's a fall item that you're lusting after?

Fall Favorite: Forever 21
It's no secret that I heart Forever 21. There's no sense in dropping big bucks on fashion that won't stay in style very long. I'm loving this dress for a casual night out. It would be perfect for beers at the Flying Saucer with Mr. SE. Depending how long this would be on me (I'm not 6' like the model), this could even work w/a pair of flats for casual friday. $13.50? I think so.8.10.2009
Blog Love: Emersonmade
I'm in love with the floral goodies featured on Emersonmade. I found her items through an inspiration board on Snippet and Ink. What a lovely way to brighten up a plain t-shirt or dress! It's a little J. Crew- but a little over the top too. I think I'll be purchasing a set for myself.

Behind the Clouds Dress
I just saw this dress at Anthropologie and died a little bit. It's lovely!I'm looking online for another one of my girlfriends who is getting married Oct 24th. We're looking for inexpensive maids dresses, that don't look bridesmaidy. Any thoughts? Please leave a comment if you've got any ideas. Also- does anyone have experience with the Priscilla of Boston bridesmaids collection?

CMT Awards
So many things to say about the CMT Awards already.1. Why didn't I try and get tickets for the red carpet/show?'
2. Julianne Hough's dress is seriously blowing my mind
3. Taylor Swift's collaboration with T. Pain is probably the hardest I've laughed in awhile
4. Kellie Pickler makes me miss North Carolina
5. Where was Carrie Underwood? I didn't see her on the red carpet and it's strange that she didn't present/perform. Anybody know the answer to this?
I'm finishing dinner and watching the rest of the show (on DVR obviously, you know I can't handle commercials!). I'll post pictures of my favorite outfits tomorrow.

J.Crew for the Little Ones
I'm in love with this Allegra dress from J. Crew's weddings & parties line! The breeze and ivory shades are my favorite. For a evening wedding (or early fall), I'd like to see this dress with a coordinating cardigan. At $98, it's not overly pricey. I love the look of simple, classic lines for flower girls. Now just for giggles, let's take a gander at this little beauty. If I A) had a daughter, and B) had lots of disposable income, I might buy this Celia dress for her. I this it's so chic and on point with current trends. But $295 is a little steep for a dress she'll probably grow out of really quickly.

Fantabulous Shoes
It's no secret that I aspire to be like Kelly Ripa- she's such a sweetheart and I'm obsessed with everything she wears. Luckily the show's website now features a "Fashion Finder" section where you can see the breakdown of Kelly's outfits. Okay- they're SUPER expensive, but a girl can dream right? I'm in love with these Bottega Veneta heels. But at $950, I can't spring for a pair.

Used Bras: Don't Throw Away
Speaking of Victoria's Secret... I have moving boxes all over my house, with labels designating their respective destinations. While going through my bras I realized there's a few I don't even wear. Normally I'll just throw away bras when they don't fit anymore, but I thought there must be something better. The Salvation Army and Goodwill both accept bras. It seems like a simple purchase, but to a struggling single mother $30 is too much to spend on something for themselves. There's a company called Bosom Buddy Recycling Program that allows you to donate your gently used bras. They distribute the bras to needy women in our country. Although they're located in AZ, they provide a shipping address for you to mail your bras. What a great cause!

The Romper Room
My mom used to tell be about a tv show called Romper Room- it seemed an appropriate post title, as this article of clothing has been called a romper, jumpsuit, or onesie. What are your thoughts on this trend? I'm absolutely loving this romper from Forever 21. As usual, it comes in 4 fantastic colors.

Cocktails Anyone?
Today is going to be beautiful here in NC! I'm hoping you all across the country are experiencing the same lovely weather. Sunday Recap
This necklace, found by Miss Apple Cider, is hilarious! I thought it was super appropriate for how I'm feeling right now. K and I were shopping all day. My ankle is killing me! Oh well, the shopping (and company) were well worth it. We hit Old Navy, Limited, Barnes and Noble, J Crew, White House/Black Market, and DSW.
In the middle of all that I introduced K to the most amazing store EVER- Swoozies. This store is the epitome of everything I love: paper, monogrammed goodies, gifts, and fun nicknacks! If you don't have one near you check out their website. There's one at Green Hills in Nashville- yippee!!! Can you tell I'm excited? If you don't have a Swoozies, check for Blue Tulip, they're pretty similar. This is a great store for gifts (moms, friends, bridal party, the lucky couple)
