Bachelor Finale Recap II

Let's get down to it. After introducing both Melissa and Molly to his family, Jason Mesnick proclaims that he is falling in love with two women. Problem: he can only pick one. During the final rose ceremony, Jason tells Molly that "he could never let her go" BUT he's going to have to. Okay, if you could really never let someone go...you wouldn't. Molly tells Jason that he's making a mistake and she doesn't want to see him hurt again (foreshadowing?).

After Molly's limo pulls away, Jason hurls himself towards his balcony and proceeds to sob. He's clearly going through some really intense feelings towards the one that he just let go. The Bachelor pulls himself together, and quickly becomes more jovial at the thought of Melissa's approaching limo.

This looks like it's going to play out like every other season of the Bachelor/Bachelorette: host falls in love with two final contestants, one leaves with their heart broken. Jason tells Melissa that he's finally able to tell her "I love you" and the two share in an extremely romantic proposal. Melissa obviously says yes and the two celebrate their engagement, including Ty, by jumping into the pool.
Fast forward 6 weeks to the "After the Final Rose" episode...
Chris Harrison reveals that it hasn't been smooth sailing for the happy couple, and Jason has an announcement to make. He will be breaking up with Melissa, citing the two experienced a change in chemistry since the show ended. Melissa comes out, excited to talk about their relationship and upcoming marriage. Newsflash: you're about to get dumped. A shocked Melissa takes Jason's news in stride and calls him a bastard, giving reasons why this is a) out of the blue 2) he's a jerk. I think all of America agrees with her.

After Melissa storms off the set, Molly comes on to do her "After the Final Rose" interview. She thinks she'll be talking about moving on after The Bachelor and get a couple questions answered from Jason. Chris asks Molly whether she is still in love with Jason, and she nervously replies that "yes, the feelings never went away". She has no clue that he's not still with Melissa.

Jason comes out and he and Molly exchange an awkward hello since this is their first meeting since being dumped in New Zealand. Molly learns that Jason broke off the engagement with Melissa because he's still in love with her. Molly holds her composure while obviously dealing with the shock of this announcement.

She confirms again that she's still in love with him, but in typical Molly fashion isn't too quick to take him back. The two exchange a heartfelt kiss, and Molly says that things aren't going to slide this easily without them having a long talk.

Will this couple finally last? Who knows. But Molly could definitely benefit from the move to Seattle, becoming a buyer for Nordstrom's corporate headquarters. Sounds like a plan to me.

Final verdict: we're happy for Molly, feel bad for Melissa, and Jason is officially the biggest jerk in America
