Pretty Things

I'm in love with these two dresses. The top style is Alvina Valenta, and Jim Hjelm is on the bottom. I love how both of these lines take a little step towards contemporary fashion, but are still firmly rooted in traditional styles. Also- the JLM brand website is one of the few that shows their dresses on real people, not models. It's amazing to see how different a dress will look on a real person versus some stick on a runway. Do you have any advice for bridal shopping in Nashville? I'm a little familiar with the stores, but I'd love to hear real advice. Ps- I'm not looking forward to {almost} 10% sales tax on a $2,000 dress!

I have worked with both Faccio Bridal in Franklin and The Bride Room in Green Hills...both AMAZING places!! Honestly I can't brag enough about both of them. They both have blogs they update often so I would def check them out!!

Also if you have somebody you can ship your dress to in a neighboring state...NO SALES TAX :) The lovely folks at The Bride Room informed me of that! Good luck...my best advice is to find what you want and wait until they are having a Trunk Sale...that's what I did :)

You could also check out Arzelles. They carry the Alvina Valenta line and are fairly helpful. I went in knowing exactly what I wanted though so it didn't take me long. The problem I had was that every dress I loved was WAY over my $2500 budget. I agree with Candice, wait for a trunk show. I actually ended up buying my gown from Priscilla of Boston.
