Please meet our flower girl! She’s the cutest girl ever, and we’re beyond thrilled to have Emma as a part of our wedding. Emma and I have a special connection, as I was the flower girl in her parents’ wedding back in the 90’s. She’s full of sass, and I love that; because frankly, so am I!I’ve been trying to stay in line with our budget throughout this planning process, and finding Emma’s dress was no different. I can’t foresee spending hundreds of dollars on a dress that she won’t be able to wear in 6 months. She’s a growing child for goodness sakes! I do, however, want her to look like a girl. I don’t like flower girl dresses that mock the bride. Childhood is really special, and it shouldn’t be hurried. That being said, I think I’ve pretty much settled on the type of dress she’ll be wearing.
I love the classic tank flower girl dresses. Not above the knee, cause that's for younger flower girls in my opinion. But I also don't want it too long. Tea length is perfect in my book. As for the sash, I'm not a fan of colors, so I know she won't have a blue one. Maybe champagne or gold, but likely white.

Mine were the exact same style. I did colors that would match the wedding: brown dresses with Tiffany sashes. I saw it in a magazine (but with a green sash) and fell in love. But the cut was exactly the same. If you want to go the make the dress route, I can tell you which pattern we used. It took a while to find the perfect one, but I got it an Joann and it was PERFECTION.
I let the flower girls pretty much pick out their own gowns bc they are 8 and 10. Well their moms picked them out and I approved. They were from davids bridal just like the bridesmaid dresses so the sash and detailing matched the older girls. My dress was ivory so there's was too. They looked adorable and fit right in. Their moms also had flower crowns made and gorgeous red baskets so I was pretty excited they had it under control. If I had their younger crazy toddler sisters in the wedding they would have been in froofroo tutus!
To stay in your budget, we actually ordered my niece's dress from flowergirldressforless.com. It was the exact same one from David's Bridal but $50 cheaper!! Just to pass that little bit info on! Good luck with your wedding.
Oh my goodness how cute is she! I think they are all great!
I totally hear you on not wanting a flower girl dress that mimicks the brides' gown. The one I have right now matches really well, but it doesn't look like a big cupcake monstrosity! We're also going to be looking after Easter for some cute dresses; good luck!
