New Kicks

I just bought these little babies and I can't wait for their arrival! If you've been following for awhile, you know about my ankle problems. But if not- I'll fill you in. Here's the short story: cheerleading injury in 2001, surgeries in 01/02/04/09. I'm currently in physical therapy here at Vanderbilt, and there's still a lot of things that I struggle with. For instance: grocery shopping at Walmart. While I love their low prices, I hate the concrete floor and always-broken carts. Normally shopping there leaves me propped up on the couch with an ice pack. Running. I always thought people who loved to run were crazy, now I'm one of those people. Running gives me such a fantastic high, and I feel great about my body. Not so fantastic? Wanting to carry around my leg the next day. At the risk of sounding whiny, I'll stop the story here.

Needless to say, shoe comfort is at the top of my list. Merrell's are great shoes for anybody who's experienced an injury, or just wants really comfortable shoes. My mom is a huge fan too! I just ordered my 2nd pair. I like that the taupe will go with black or brown, and they're comfortable without looking too rugged.
Do any of you have a persistent injury that impacts your everyday life? How do you deal and not let it get you down?

My mother has two pairs of these. One in black and in the color above. She swears by these shoes so much that I have caught her wearing them even when the temps are warmer outdoors.

I developed some sort of carpel tunnel in my wrist a few years ago and whenever I do some repeated action using my wrist for more than 15 seconds I end up in serious pain for days. I think it's from typing on a laptop without a wrist guard for 5 years in college. I know it's not as serious as your ankle injury but I understand how much it sucks to have an annoying injury!

OMG, i'm in your boat. i was a dancer [not of the exotic variety] for 13 years growing up and i LOVED it. my right ankle, however, did not. couple that with cross country practice 5 days a week, and standing for 5 hours a night after that at work, and there were nights i had to drive home with my left foot. not safe. i got orthopedic insoles. not little old lady insoles, and they go in my running shoes.

HOWEVER...i bought some merrells at marshalls a few years ago, and they rock my face off. the arch support is clutch, they are hard-soled, which helps EVERYTHING. so here's hoping they help you girl!
