Big Announcement

Exciting things are happening over here at casa SE. We're expecting! Mr. SE and I are headed out to Franklin tonight to pick up our new little girl. She's 5 years old, a mini schnauzer, and we've decided to call her Lucy. We are so excited for Duffie to have a friend!

This is her picture from the adoption site. We found Lucy through Little Bow Wow rescue of Tennessee. Mr. SE and I knew we wanted another dog, but weren't interested in potty training another puppy. We toyed around with the idea of a schnauzer since that's what my lovely husband had growing up. This little girl popped up on the rescue website and we knew it was fate. She's the exact same size as Duffie and aside from their hair color they look almost identical (although Lucy's ears are somewhat larger!) I'll be sure to post pictures of both girls together.

Have you ever adopted an adult dog? I'd love any advice on how to make her transition the best it can be. Also- any advice on bringing any age of new dog into a home with another dog is greatly appreciated.

thanks for the advice on Gray Photography site! Being so new, I can use all the advice I can get. AND Lucy is gorgeous! We have 3 dogs ourselves, and we love the furry little brats! We did receive our female sheltie from the breeder that we got our male sheltie from She contacted us about 2 years after we brought DJ home to see if we would take his sister. She was thining the herd so to speak, and needed to find good homes for a few of her dogs. It was a little odd at first as we had never taken in an adult dog. She had been kept outside in a pen and a full functioning dog "house" (water, heat, air) that all her dogs stayed in. She had never had to be housebroken, so that took a little while. She would just squat wherever! But she's is fine now.
