Y'all. If our house doesn't sell in Nashville we can't close on this new house in Denver. It's like this big fat bully that's riding us piggyback. Our first realtor wasn't really pushing the house, and took a really passive approach to getting it sold. Look, we're not "thinking" about moving-- we packed up and moved across the country, so please bust your buns to sell my house! So after 60 days on the market, we withdrew our listing with that realtor and used a referral from our new realtor here in Denver. The new realtor had back-to-back visits in the first two weeks, but now it's slowed down a bit. Mr. SE thinks it's because of tax time, and that tours will pick up again when folks start getting their refunds.
And me? I'm frustrated, grumpy, and this is a completely sour topic. I'm worried that if anybody else asks me if we "at least have any offers" I'm going to bite their head off. Hello? If I had an offer we would've sold the house! Clearly you have no experience listing a home from 2008-2012. Kthanksbye. I'm trying to stay positive, I really am. But every day I'm dying to get a "showing" email or some sort of head's up that a sweet family is putting an offer on our home.
Here's where you come in. Please send us whatever form of encouragement suits your soul-- prayers, burying a St. Joseph statue (my mom suggested this), house selling dances, positive vibes, or any other ritual you prefer. Please just send it our way.
Thanks for allowing me to get real on here. It's not normally something that I do, since I try and keep the blog more upbeat. Promise I'll try and be back to fun posts tomorrow.
*Update**
I added a link to our listing in case you know someone in the market in Nashville

6 Wonderful Comments:
Number 1... its okay to be real on your blog! That's what makes it readable :) and Number 2... I will add you to my prayer list and hope that someone soon puts an offer in on you TN house! (Which is uber adorable!) :) Cheer up butter cup, easier said than done, I know, but it will work out in the end!
I just happen to have an awesome house selling dance that I will do just for you!! Seriously though, I'll be thinking about you, sending you positive vibes and praying for a buyer soon! I love the "keeping it real" posts! :)
Oh gosh- I'm doing a happy house selling dance and adding you to my prayer list as I read this! Keep us updated. I know y'all wouldn't have been given the opportunity to move that far if it wasn't going to work out :)
Sigh...I'm sorry to hear that you're having trouble selling your home! We're having trouble with BUYING a home. Um - could you please transplant your house to where I live in Florida, because I would totally buy it from you. The market here is insane - if a house is under $300,000 and look nice, they get snapped up in about 24 hours after being listed, and it's driving me nuts. We've made offers on some...without being able to sleep on it overnight even...no luck yet.
I'll be thinking happy thoughts for you, and secretly will be jealous of whoever ends up buying your house from you...it looks really nice ;)
I feel your frustrations, Sarah! We are moving to Las Vegas in three months and are putting our Hermitage/Old Hickory house up on the market this week. We don't have a choice either - it HAS to sell before we purchase another house. It's the most nerve-wrecking experience ... I wish you so much luck! Many positive thoughts that it will work out in favor of getting your new home in Denver. The Nashville market is up 30% since January :)
What a great house! I'm sorry this is so stressful. I just posted the link on my FB page...just in case I have readers in Nashville.
I'll be praying for a quick sale!
Abby
