We Saw The President

The last 24 hours have been pretty exciting over here! While Mr. SE and I were driving home on Tuesday, we noticed police officials putting up caution tape around City Park. It's right across from our condo, so naturally we were intruiged. We changed clothes really quickly and headed over to the park, where some students informed us that the President was coming. WHAT?!?! We knew he was speaking in Boulder that night, but apparently City Park is the best place for them to land their fleet of helicopters, including Marine 1. How exciting!

Well we waited for 2 hours on Tuesday night and it finally got dark. Around 8pm the fleet finally landed, but we could barely see anything. Regardless, it was super cool to be that close to amazing aircraft like that-- right in my "front yard". Fast forward to Wednesday morning, when we were trying to leave for work. There was a blockade again, and from our building we could see all of the helicopters were back in the park (they'd taken off to Buckley Air Force Base the night before).  Since we couldn't get out and go to work, Mr. SE and I took advantage of the situation and waited 30 minutes to see the President. And that we did!

If you look at my pictures, you can see sequentially he's walking from the limo on the right to Marine One. Clicking the pictures will make them bigger. Hello, Mr. President!
