When To Wed?

In my mind I've always been a spring bride. I was born in May, our anniversary is May 4, my parents were married April 3rd, I like it warm out (but not hot), and pastels are my most favorite colors. But the truth is, I don't know if we could pull off a wedding by next spring. An 8 month engagement? Not for this planning diva. I want all the time possible to explore every single option...type A anyone? That being said, I don't want to wait until 2011.

So now I'm exploring the option of late summer (August) or November. I won't get married in September because A) everybody does it and B) FSIL/FBIL SE got married in September. And October isn't really my thing because A) everybody does it. If we're looking at November, I'd definitely like to do it maybe the first weekend? Ugh...

I had thought of doing a summer wedding w/ a wedding indoors (church), cocktail hour outdoors, and reception inside. But it's just SO. HOT. HERE! And I would probably just cry if I saw those telltale black clouds coming in.

So for now, we'll continue to contemplate our date conundrum (or maybe it''ll just be me contemplating). I love the floral arrangement above because not only are the flowers cloth (they won't die!), but they'll fit with a spring, summer, or fall palette. I'm obsessed with dusty mauve, pink, grey, and ivory colors right now! What do you think about that?

I planned my wedding in 8mths- only 2 mnths left til the big day and honestly I am so happy! If I had too long I would totally over think everything and change my mind a million times. I'm very indecisive so I pretty much took whatever dates my church had left and just ran with it and trust me it all comes together!!

That being said my FSIL/FBIL got married the first weekend in Nov and it was absolutely beautiful the weather could not have been more perfect and you could definitely pull of specific pastels in Nov.

Best of Luck!

We're in SC, and my sister had a November wedding. It was gorgeous & the 2nd weekend in November. She had the wedding at 1:00, so everyone was heading home from the reception by the time the temperature started to drop. Plus, you have an excuse to use bright, bold colors!

yea, really if you plan well 8 months is more than enough! (and you have been ahead of the curve... already got so much inspiration hehe) any longer and it starts to feel too long. I vote for the anniversary :-) our dating anniversary is oct 17 and we got married oct 18 - the day after our 5 yr anniversary and i absolutely looooved it! :-)

August might be a little too warm but November is beautiful in Nashville. It's much cooler and the leaves are just beginning to change.

Have fun and don't worry so much about the date. I was a spring bride at heart too and I had to do October...the only month that my FI can swing it with work...and yes I totally cried at my florist on Friday because she harshly scolded me about the lack of my favorite flowers in October...so sad...if you are ready then do it! The date won't matter...take it from a bitter October bride haha.

You can TOTALLY do it in 8 months...I am SO Type A, and we had 9 months, and I had SO much downtown. It was ridiculous! And I'm a very busy girl. I work full-time, we bought a house and painted the entire inside and decorated, and I am getting my MBA. I know you can do it!

You can do it in 8 months! I have learned in my experience as a wedding planner, that brides really do have super-powers. A bride wants a perfect wedding and if that means doin it in 8 months or 8 weeks, she can do it.
