I love these balloons from a 1st birthday party featured on Style Me Pretty. Our Lady of Wedding Goodness, Martha , did a spread on these before, and I tend to think there's something so lovely about them. Call me crazy. Balloons haven't always been such a fancy form of decoration, but these are so delightful and fun!Since our cocktail hour will begin while it's still daylight (5pm), I thought we could use these sporadically up the steps of War Memorial (white, of course). If someone mentioned balloons in our wedding decor, I would've immediately thought klassy. With a K. But now I'm singing a different tune.
I'd love to set the scene, really get people excited upon arriving at our cocktail hour & reception. Granted TPAC will place a "private event" sign, but it's really not too pretty. Here's another thought, veiled topiaries (also from Martha).
What do you think of large, singular balloons lining the steps of War Memorial. Classy or klassy? And how did you set the tone for guests entering your wedding? As usual, I welcome all comments and ideas.

Hm. You'd have to have them helium filled. There is something that happens to balloons if there is a temperature change, I think. Look into that first. Like they can deflate or something. I can't remember what it is though.
If you had those giant perfectly round balloons, perhaps classy. As long as they weren't tied with lame curly ribbon. You'd need something else.
Just regular old balloons? K. Definitely Klassy.
The Thirty-Something Bride has spoken.
Bahahahaha! Totally kidding.
I think that would look very classy w a c, haha.
Definitely an interesting idea. I'd love to see those in the rich blues you've chosen as your palette. You might consider having them tied with fishing line so that they hang "clear" and appear to just float in place. You'd have to come up with something to weight them down if there is no railing to tie them to.
