What to Eat

Lately I've written a lot about food. What can I say? Fitness and nutrition are weighing on my mind at this stage in the wedding planning. But I hope this isn't a fad. I'd like to continue eating healthy and getting moderate exercise (search "ankle" on my blog and get the scoop) long after the wedding. I've already posted about my love of Amy's meals, and now I have a new favorite: Teriyaki bowl. It's really filling, but doesn't leave you feeling stuffed or unhealthy.

As a personal preference, I've decided to stop eating dairy. It's hard- I love cheese! I tried Silk Soy Milk for awhile, but that still gave me an upset stomach. So now I'm onto Silk Pure Almond. It's fantastic- tastes like real almonds, but also like milk. I use it in my coffee and not much else, so it gets the job done. What's better? It costs less than the soy milk I was already buying.

I'm not ready to do a complete diet overhaul, but I'm making little changes every day. Have you started making healthier changes in your diet? Did you do it all at once, or did you take baby steps?

Here's some of my favorite healthy eating blogs, while we're at it:

I started abstaining from carbs after 3pm every day... not all carbs but bread, crackers, pasta, etc. I give myself one free day a week and BOY has it helped my tummy. I wake up in the morning feeling great, not like I have a rock sitting inside of me.
I also am recording my calorie intake and paying more attention to what I am putting in my mouth.
I feel so much better - not bloated all the time - and my skinny jeans finally fit again!

Well you know me and my diet-- I have a structured meal plan courtesy of my trainer and it's definitely helped. I'm more of a all at once kind of girl:) I also google everything my trainer tells me and try to learn about what I'm doing and get different perspectives. For me, there's no sense in giving something up, if I don't truly understand the effects.

I'll have to try that Amy's meal, thanks. We've been trying to eat healthier too. Baby steps! :)

I've been wondering if that Amy's brand is any good. Maybe I'll try some soon.
