What's For Dinner?

This weekend we had our tasting with the amazing Rita of Down South Delights. The food was amazing, and I cannot wait to share the details with y'all. For now, I'll let you know what each place setting will look like.

Royal Pintuck Linens

Gold Charger Plate w/white dinner plate

Teal Satin Napkin

Folded like this, with a peacock feather slipped in front of the menu

What are your thoughts? We went back and forth on lots of different napkin colors, but I'm really pleased with what we decided. Does this make you want to sit down and have a lovely meal?

Shoes in Royal Blue

I've decided to sport royal blue shoes on our wedding day. Why? There's several reasons. To name a few:

A) How often will I re-wear white, fancy shoes?
B) They could count as my something blue
C) Blue is my favorite color!
D) I'll be reminded of our wedding day every time I wear them after
These babies are my muse. Yes, they're a Carrie Bradshaw knock-off and I've posted about them before. But I don't care, I'm in love. My only concern is the heat. I'd like to have open toed shoes to a) keep my toes cool and b) show of my wedding day pedi. That being said, royal blue/cobalt shoes are hard to find. They were all the rage last year, so I'm hoping they make a big comeback in holiday collections this year. Until then, I'll lust over these beauties.

Side note- I've thought about purchasing dyeable shoes and having them done in a royal blue. The only problem is that all dyeable shoes I've ever tried on feel like crap. Of course, Stuart Weitzman and Cole Haan make dyeable versions, but I'd like to stay under $100.

Did any of you wear non-white shoes under your gown?

Omigoodness

This clutch literally took my breath away. Holy wedding palette transformed into the most beautiful silk bag ever. Get one for yourself (or me) at Etsy.

*Afterthought: I wish the clasp was gold. Other than that, perfection.

Color Palette Conundrum

I'm at a total loss for our color palette. After changing venues, we're back to the drawing board. Our new venue has a gold ceiling, just like the Cathedral- so I'd like to keep gold as an accent color. I'm drawn to the warmth of a gold/champagne/peach palette, but I've always loved blues and I'd like to incorporate that on our wedding day. Here's some palettes I'm into right now.

I'd love to hear your opinions. Can I do teal/gold/royal without looking like Mardi Gras or too gaudy? Would peach/apricot/gold be too muted for the end of summer? Please help me out. Any suggestions for palettes using gold would be greatly appreciated!

{Gold, Peach, Apricot}
{Gold, Royal Blue, Teal}
and perhaps accents of purple
{Gold & Navy}
