This One's For The Guys
Okay, it's CMT Music Fest and I'm a little sad that we'll be out of town. I'm not sad that Mr. SE's bff is getting married, but I'm bummed we'll miss the concerts. Anywho- I had to give a musical shout out. Obviously, Martina McBride.
My previous post about boutonnieres got me thinking about the groom. Yeah, remember him? The reason your going through these 6, 9,or 12 months of planning bliss. I think the groom is easily forgotten in the madness that we call wedding planing. So here's my toast to the groom (did anybody just think of SATC?), this post is for him.
I recently saw some totally awesome male wedding bands via We Met in A Bar. She posted about how they wanted a simple titanium band, but were able to find a more affordable option by Etsy seller Zoe and Doyle. This seller makes fantastic bands at an even better price ($45-$79). Heather reports that the quality is right up there too! Hello, how cute is the case it comes in?
*I promise to post pictures from the weekend. Mr. SE is a groomsman and he looks darn sexy in a tux*

Organize.com
I love this website. Granted I've actually never ordered anything- BUT I have been stalking for awhile. They have great decor inspiration for the Type A in us all. There's also a great blog {Mrs. Organized} that showcases tips and inspiration daily. As if the site wasn't sweet enough, there's a wedding section where you can pick up super cute gifts for the uber organized bride. Or maybe just a bride that you think should be more organized! My current obsession is this wine rack.
Such a fantastic use of space- love it!!!
Do you have a home decor/inspiration site that you can't live without?

Want your wedding in a church, but also want to be outside? Bring in your own church pews. This extremely creative couple in California did exactly that. They rented vintage pews and brought the church to their wedding location. I love love this!!!

Don't Forget the Groom
Brides are normally the focal point of the wedding day. The dress, the veil, the flowers. But don't forget about your man! Here's some custom boutonnieres from Rosenow Floral Design to showcase your groom's interests and hobbies. I love the idea of a nautical one for the groom that loves to fish, or golf clubs for the fellow who loves to hit the green (ahem, Mr. SE!).

Thirty Followers & One Fantastic Meal
30!!!
I never thought there'd be thirty people who were actually interested in what I have to say.
Not bad for a little blog I thought nobody would ever find!
Our new slow cooker has proved to be a wonderful edition to the kitchen. Monday night I surprised Mr. SE with dinner already cooking when he returned from work. Here's the skinny on our delicious meal:
4 chicken breasts, 1/4 C light beer, 1/4 C lime juice, 1/4 C chopped cilantro, 1 tsp minced garlic
Combine and cook on HIGH for 3-4 hours or LOW for 6-8, depending on your schedule
I served this delicious chicken meal w/hearts of romaine and homemade balsamic vinaigrette. For desert we had Martha's "Glazed Lemon Cookies". Delicious!

Curtains: Part II
Okay, here's the curtain pictures. As I shared before, Mr. SE and I decided on the double rod with thick curtains in front and sheers in the back. We like to keep the sheers closed during the day, and the curtains to the side. At night we like the look of them both closed. The brown sheers are great because they let in just the right amount of daytime light.
Sheers and curtains closed.
Curtains w/matching pillows. Thankyouverymuch. We found these pillows at Bed Bath & Beyond with the same material and colors. Love it!

Please Meet My Obsession
This drink is my crack. There's a McDonald's less than 1 mile from our apartment, and now I find myself swinging through there every stinking day! I didn't think to take a picture of my own drink, but this one will work for all intensive purposes. I order a medium plain (no cream, no sugar), just coffee and ice. Then I add my own Splenda in the car (see Splenda minis below). Don't ask me why, McD's has their own Splenda. I just like to do it myself.

Weekend Update
I'm not funny like Seth Meyers and Amy Poehler, but I'll try and keep you entertained. Mr. SE and I had a lovely day of errands. Here's the run down: Bed Bath and Beyond, BR Outlet, Zales, Pottery Barn, Tiffany, and Macys.
What's that? Yes, we went to Tiffany. Their solitaire setting is still my favorite that I've ever seen. And although I understand the unsurpassed quality of their stones, I still can't seem to get past having Mr. SE pay the exorbitant markup. At Zales we found a ring that I loved (6 prong, 1.6 carats, white gold) with a fantastic price to boot! The only problem was that their prongs are so thick and the stone sits really high. We're going work with a jeweler that'll help Mr. SE get the setting just right. Our wonderful salesman at Tiffany (ask for Clark, he's amazing) gave me "The Engagement Rings & Wedding Bands" book. I plan on holding it close, the pictures are to. die. for.
At Bed Bath and Beyond we wrapped up our living room curtain conundrum. Our apartment comes furnished with vertical blinds. Lovely. We decided to take those down and put up our own double layer rod. The front panel is a combo of part of our palette (aqua and brown) and the back sheer is plain brown. I think it looks pretty nice. **I'll post pictures tomorrow, my camera is in the car*
At Macys I used my gift card from FFIL SE to purchase the lovely Martha Stewart strainer in red, and a new crock pot! I debated with juicers and decided to buy an electric one, but I'm really lusting after this little baby.
What did we have for dinner? Oh yes, I made the linguine & white wine again. We loved it!

Duffie Needs A Hair Cut
Duffie needs a trim real bad- but I'm a little bit nervous! Last summer we had her cut at PetsMart in Mt. Juliet and this is what happened.
She got shaved SO short and was understandably embarrassed! We currently live in Hermitage. Can somebody please recommend a place that you have your dogs groomed at? We (Duffie and myself) would appreciate it big time!

Honey-Do List
{Photo from The Treasured Petal}I love the simplicity of this bouquet. It's timeless and classic- exactly the feeling I want our wedding to exude.
Mr. SE and I have a full to-do list today, so I'll be back tomorrow with some posts. Last night we went to a BBQ downtown and saw The Hangover after. A little advice? Go see it. According to Mr. SE "I haven't laughed that hard since Dumb & Dumber first came out". Words of a genius.
