Accesorize Me: Shoe Edition Part II

This isn't the first time I've posted about my wedding shoes. It's been an ongoing saga. The previous Nina shoes didn't work out, and I decided that closed-toe shoes would be too hot for our August affair.

So after ordering 7 pairs of shoes from Zappos (free shipping both ways = amazing), I have finally found my wedding shoe. She's so pretty and perfect and I just love how secure she makes my ankle feel. It goes without saying that we're a perfect match made in bridal heaven. She's currently a lovely shade of white satin, but she'll be sporting a more stylish look on our wedding day.

I'm going to have the shoes dyed at Peabody Shoe Repair in Hillsboro Village. Bridesmaid Nicole (former pageant queen- woot!) assures me that dyeing shoes is safe, as she did it all the time for pageants. I trust her- as of now.

Here are my precious/sassy wedding shoes...

Thanksgiving Thankfulness

I'm thankful for so many things this Thanksgiving holiday. I'm thankful for my fiance, and especially that we're finally living in the same city, and the life that we're creating together. I'm thankful for my amazing parents, and that they've driven 10 1/2 hours to be with us Thanksgiving. I'm thankful for the friendship and support from my new Nashville community.

And I'm thankful for you, my blog family. Those of you across the country have helped me with inspiration for our wedding, and advice for issues outside our wedding. For the Nashville ladies, I can never express how much you mean to me. You've made my move to Nashville as seamless as possible, making me feel like I'm welcome in a new city. We've shared our wedding plans, lives, and many glasses of wine. I'm so thankful to have friends like you. I've only been in Nashville 6 months, but with you girls it feels like 6 years.

Cheers to you Tami, Kristin, Cat, Chelsea, Louise, and Jess. Love you.

Registry 101

Tomorrow morning the SE's are registering at Bed Bath & Beyond. It's quite possibly my favorite store ever. I collect their 20% (and $5 off) coupons like it's going out of style. My current total is close to 20. It's missing the 15 that I used when I moved to Nashville. Love that they never expire. Love it! So here's my question for you, my faithful readers (and even some of you bridesmaids that lurk around and never comment. Yes, you Dani). What's the one item you think needs to be on a registry? Or maybe something fun that we should ask for?

{i want one of these SO bad}

Mr. SE already gave me the mack daddy of registry items for Christmas 2007. She's so pretty- in all her cherry red delicious glory! So what should we add to our list? And let me know if you have any helpful registry tips to offer!

Accesorize Me: Shoe Edition

While I can't show you the dress that I purchased...I will share that it's white, not ivory, and definitely bridal. It was important to me that my dress reflected the formality of our ceremony, at the Cathedral, while still remaining fun and young. Erika at The White Room has been more than amazing. She was instrumental in helping me find my dream gown, and has been a huge help in finding similarly fabulous dresses for my lovely bridesmaids. More on that later.

My dress won't be in until early January, but I've been itching to start looking for accessories. I requested a sample of the fabric because my designer's white is more off-white and their ivory is more yellow-ish. Like any bride, I want to make sure that my accessories match the main feature! Erika informed me that my designer didn't give them swatches to send to brides, but she would send me a strap from the same dress. Seriously? How awesome! I've heard conflicting reviews about different bridal salons in Nashville. But I have heard nothing but amazing things about The White Room, and I have to agree! They will make sure you feel like the only person there, and they will go out of their way to make sure you have the best experience possible. Hands down best bridal salon in town!

This whole post is to say, that I ordered a possible bridal shoe. My dream is to have rich, royal blue satin shoes. Open toed. Right now most shoes are closed toe and suede, seeing as it's winter. I'll have to wait until spring to see if royal makes a comeback like last year. That being said, I've also begun entertaining the idea of a white shoe. I know- I did a white shoe smackdown not long ago....but I'm not hearing such great things about the dyeable options. My worst nightmare? The gorgeous royal dye bleeding onto my white gown. Horror.

So here's the shoes I bought. Sassy, no? They're high. Mr. SE is a foot taller that me. I luurve the ankle strap. I've never really been into ankle straps before, but I certainly don't want this glass slipper falling off. The best part is that the strap can be removed if I choose to wear them after the wedding. I likely won't. Who wears fancy white shoes? Nobody.
Without further postponing, here they are. Nina Electra from Zappos. Love Zappos. Love Nina (ps they have their own site now). Free shipping both ways?!? How can you NOT order something. If not at least to try. I can't wait to get these. And in case you're wondering. Yes, I will wear them around the house.

Engagement Shoot

Today we'll be having our engagement shoot with the wonderful Jonathon Campbell. We're going to start in Franklin and take some rural pictures, then we'll move to downtown for sunset. If you follow me on twitter, you know I've been wigging out about my outfit. So here's what I've decided to wear (this is going to be a picture heavy post).

This sweater with jeans & cowboy boots....Because it is November, even if it's 70 degrees.
And this dress.....love the empire waist and sassy little hemline with these shoes (I'm in the yellow, making an huge effort to catch the bouquet)....
I can't wait to see how our shoot works out. I'm sure Jonathon and Sharon will rock it!

Billberry: It's Good For You

{yummy}

I'm in need of a new purse. The one I currently have has been my faithful companion since our introduction at DSW's Christmas 2008 sale. I love her. But we've simply been together too long. I'd love for my new purse to be unisex. You know, capable of working with black OR brown. Enter the most lovely eggplant purple-ish masterpiece. I will name her Lily (it really just popped in my head). Longchamp calls the color "billberry". She's classic, but fun, and would go with all of my black AND brown clothes. Perfection. Except for the price tag. We'll have to work on that one.

I've only spotted her once in real life. But I know she hangs out here and here. Let me know if you find her. Specifically if she's on sale.

Thread it Real Good

I blogged about my obsession with eyebrow threading awhile ago, but I didn't have very many readers at that point. I want to scream from the mountaintops how amazing this procedure is! As someone who has very, extremely, light blonde eyebrows, this is such a great alternative to waxing. Not to mention it's much cheaper. Last time I had my eyebrows waxed, I believe it was around $28- threading costs me a hot $13. If you're in the Nashville area, I'd like to recommend Noori at Cut N Care in Donelson. She's amazing, and can normally get you in on the same day. Tell her Sarah sent you.

Mr. SE and I have our engagement pictures this weekend with the amazingly talented Jonathon Campbell. I'm beyond excited. And beyond nervous! What am I going to wear? Where did this zit come from? When will my bloat go away? (Cat I cannot possibly eat any more raspberries). If you follow me on Twitter, you know that I've been wigging out about the clothing situation for some time now. Could that possibly cause the zits? It's likely.

I think I've decided on my outfits, and now I need to work on Mr. SE's. I'll do a detailed clothing selection post tomorrow. Contain yourself- I know you're excited.

Did you stress before your e-pics? What's some helpful advice that you wish someone had told you?

The Most Wonderful Time of The Year

It's only November 11th and I'm already on a big Christmas kick. Mr. SE made me wait until November to watch Elf, and I just watched another Christmas-ish movie today: The Holiday. This movie is one of my absolute favorites! It's one of the two movies that I brought while studying abroad in Paris (the other being Hairspray), and I never tire of watching it. I love the development between the two sets of characters (Iris& Miles, Amanda & Graham), along with drooling over Cameron's fabulous sweater collection. And Arthur completly makes my day- he's the sweetest, cutest elerly man and his relationship with Kate warms my heart.

What holiday movies to do love watching every year? I'd love to add some newbies to my list!
