Beautiful Maids

I've put a lot of thought into what my bridesmaids will wear. There's a couple things that were important to me:

-They feel beautiful
-They look like themselves
-They're comfortable
-They'll 100% wear them again

So how have I decided to go about this? Enter my lover, J. Crew. They've got some great shades for the Fall 2009/Spring 2010 Weddings & Parties line. I'll have my girls pick from several shades of champagne, blush, peach, and rose. Along with picking their own color, the girls can also choose their own style. Since they'll be choosing not only their own color, but also style- I'm sure they'll find something that they'd like to wear again. The J. Crew dresses aren't cheap, but they're classic and fantastic quality.

What do you think about having bridesmaids wear different dresses? Are you letting your girls freely pick their frocks or are you offering a couple options? I'd like to hear what others are doing (or have already done). Share a link to your pictures if possible!

My bridesmaids wore different dresses in the same color. It was for two reasons:
1. I didn't want to pick out a dress
2. I wanted them to feel comfortable

The same dress doesn't flatter everyone, and I wanted everyone to feel pretty.

I picked out a shade of pink, told them where to go and by when, and let them go crazy. The only deal was that they had to send me a picture of what they picked so I could make sure there were no duplicates.

No one had to worry about looking fat or too busty, not busty, bloated, etc etc. Everyone got something that flattered them.

Picking your own is the way to go.I was able to do it twice and am letting my MOH choose her style, just not the color! :) My friend got married last Xmas and her maids all wore long black gowns - same fabric - style of their choice. It was STUNNING because everyone looked good in their own style. Mrs. Newlywed is right!

I chose the B2 line from Jasmine & had the girls pick out tea length poly chiffon dresses in whatever style they wanted. I chose the color, and they got to pick the fit that was best for them. Who knows if they'll ever wear them again & they ALL had to have them altered, but it was a lot better than having clone bridesmaids in prom dresses! :-)

Hey there! I'm not engaged but I found the most gorgeous picture of a bride and her maids all wearing different elegant dresses in shades that all work together. Check out my blog I posted on July 7. Love the J.Crew dress you picked out!!
